Full Stack Engineer (Sanlam)

​

  • Created a statistics app for Executive level leadership to keep track of:
    i. Tool usage showcasing a toolsets growth and unique statistics to explain to senior management reasons for investing into the future of using the product.
    ii. Toolset billing as each tool is billed differently.

  • Transformed the current project methodology from waterfall development to Agile development using scrum.

  • Ran daily scrum and planned future sprints with key stakeholders.

  • Created Proof of Concept app using AI to scan command line output to detect bugs or inconsistencies and provide the end user a simple, non-technical explanation to any potential issues or bugs in the code.

  • Implemented a scheduled, automated data pull and transformation using database reading and tool API’s for the statistics app.

  • Implemented authentication using LDAP into currently existing internal applications with little to no security. Further integration of authorization was added to the apps using LDAP groups to create Role Based Access Controls and reduce dependency on legacy Access Control Lists.

  • Designed and created a new database for the statistics app, from inception to deployment with proof of concepts using SQL and NoSQL.

  • Created dynamic, single page web apps which reacts to user input and does not redirect to new pages once a link is clicked.

Junior Python Developer (Sanlam)

  • Created a REST API to be integrated into a new solution to automate shutdown and start up of the servers during weekly security patching.

  • Developed and configured a proof of concept of HashiCorp’s Vault running on the AWS Cloud.

  • Created an automated incident reporting and permission request system and integrated it into Azure DevOps Boards and Microsoft Teams Channels.

  • Conducted automated testing for data ingestion, crafting test cases using the Robot Framework. Additionally, I redesigned the tests with consideration for end-users' computer hardware, ensuring compatibility with lower-spec laptops while maintaining optimal performance.

  • Achieved my Amazon Web Services Certified Cloud Practitioner Certification

  • Achieved my Microsoft Azure Administrator Certification.

Data Analyst (Sanlam)

  • Completed a year-long classroom-style training learning to master a broad spectrum of Computer Engineering concepts and DevOps Practices (topics included: Python, Cloud Computing, database creation and use, SQL, enterprise and solution architecture, Automation, Agile, Automated Testing, User Experience and Information Governance)

  • Participated in a company hackathon and created an app as a potential solution to the issues caused my Covid-19 (a web app featuring COVID-19 statistics tracking, geolocation functionality to guide users to their nearest pharmacies and an integrated online store for pharmacy items)

  • Worked in an agile team using Scrum to develop the first edition of the SASER App to automate and provide a single source of truth for the Architecture and Solution Evaluation Review process.

  • Implemented Azure Active Directory authentication and authorization for the SASER App.

General Manager (Domino's Pizza)

  • Managed profitability of two stores for the Business Owner by utilizing metrics to drive business levers.

  • Process management position overseeing all weekly operations and contractor coordination.

  • Conducted training of new staff and ensured regular upskilling plans were in place for existing employees.
